Sweetlife Music Festival 2012

Sweet Life Music Festival was perhaps the greatest one-day music festival.  Hosted at Merriweather Post Pavilion on a sunny spring day, nearly the entire Baltimore high school community showed up. Fun and A$AP Rocky got the party started on the main stage. It was a perfect day to just sit in the grass, enjoy the  sunshine, and soak in the music.

When the sun went down, the talent on stage continued to amaze. The Shins opened up for Kid Cudi. This was one of the most impressive sets I had ever seen. Kid Cudi played a fantastic mix of songs from both Man on the Moon and Man on the Moon II. The whole crowd really was on a Pursuit of Happiness.

The legend himself, Avicii closed out the night with a high-energy dance set. Levels had rocked the world just 6 months earlier. Watching this superstar do his thing was fantastic. I was surrounded by friends, all dancing without a care. I still remember his live remix of Black & Yellow by Wiz. Avicii committed suicide in 2018. This was the only time I ever saw him live, and the memory of this set is still strong to this day. RIP you King.
